My Cat Mickey

Mickey Mouser was the last "new" cat that my wife Becky named. She died three weeks after we adopted Mickey, at a time when we had no tomcats, having lost Chuck to feline leukemia some months earlier. Mickey quickly accepted his new life as "King of the Cats," and demonstrated his superior hunting skills by giving us many gifts of mouse, baby rabbit and bird heads.

Mickey isn't one of those lover cats (like Bandit) that craves a lot of petting and lap time, so it is a treat whenever he gets on my lap for a little talking and ear scratching. Most of the time he is patrolling his realm, keeping the kingdom free of rodents and any outsider animals. Several times he has had to be patched up from injuries, and he always insists he won the fierce battle, and will stay the undefeated champ for life.
