Magic-Cat Ceecee
My Magic-Cat Ceecee

Ceecee was the Best All Around Cat that I ever knew. She was found on the coldest day in 50 years, crying from underneath a vehicle in the parking lot where I worked at that time. I called and called to her, but she would not show herself. When I opened the door to the shop, she streaked through and led me on a merry chase. When I finally cornered her, she just stood there and meowed once. I looked at that beatiful Calico kitten and thought, "My wife will probably wring my neck if I bring another stray cat home, but there's something about this one that I feel is special."

When I showed her to the other employees, they all agreed that she was a beautiful ktten and that I should keep her. Candice even volunteered to run to the Aldi store and get cat food for her ( in minus 80 degree windchill ) Our newest feline friend ate two cans of food in record time, and went to sleep in a drawer of my desk that I pulled out. At lunch time I drove her to her new home, introduced her to the other cats and showed her where everything was. I returned to work and thought about what I would tell Becky when she got home and found still another cat in the house.

My wife always accepted my penchant for rescuing stray cats, and helped find other families to adopt the ones she felt were good matches. Becky thought of herself as a MatchMaker, trying to hook her friends and family up with people, animals or furniture she thought would go good together. She named this kitten Ceecee, after one of her cousins, and partly because she was a Calico Cat.

Ceecee was clean, quiet, gentle and loving. Not too aloof and almost always had time for some rubbing and petting whenever you were in the mood. She liked to sleep in the bed between us. She was also the best huntress I ever knew, killing any invader whether it was rabbit, mole, bat, bird or mouse. Definitely a Best All Around Cat!

I had nicknames for her: cease-boe cat, Cecily, Caley Coconut. She died of kidney failure shortly after turning 17 years old in January of 2008.

All Of My Magic-Cats Have Been Spayed or Neutered.
