Magic-Cat Bandit
Photo of My Cat Bandit

Bandit is The Cat Who Came To Dinner. I never planned to have another tomcat, and thought I would nurse him back to health and put him up for adoption, like I did with others.

When the weather was nice, we kept a window in the kitchen open enough for the cats to enter and exit on their own. Over the years we also were visited by a possum, a raccoon, and this handsome stranger; all taking advantage of the provided food and water with easy access when the humans were away.

The first few times I saw Bandit, he would dodge and run and escape out the window when I arrived home. On a dark and stormy night, there was a tapping as if someone gently rapping, rapping on my kitchen window. It was a wet tomcat and nothing more. I let him in, and he's stayed. He is still a scaredy-cat around loud noises and strangers, but a glutton for love and lap time to me.

I named him Bandit because he snuck into my house and stole my heart. That, plus I didn't like the name Burglar. He has a birth defect in one of his back paws and cannot retract the claw in one toe. Sometimes when he lays on his side just right it looks like he is flipping you the bird. I get such a chuckle out of that!

All Of My Magic-Cats Have Been Spayed or Neutered.
